I am in the office today working on insurance applications. I’ll update everyone on my website pleasantviewcounseling.com and on my Facebook page @pleasantviewcounseling as each application is approved.
I am currently accepting self-pay and scheduling for the first week of July. My self-pay fees are: $150.00 for your initial assessment, which takes about 1 1/2 hours to complete. And $125.00 for our follow-up appointments, which are approximately 50-60 minutes each. PLEASE NOTE> I cannot see my friends, family or associates, but I thank you for sharing my information.
Did you know there are many perks to being a self-pay client?
When you do not pay for counseling sessions through insurance, both the client and the therapist have more flexibility and privacy in your treatment. It can be a “win-win” in several ways:
Self-pay clients are not required to have a mental health diagnosis. This means that we are able to work on problems which you might want to discuss that could be milder in nature and not fall under a diagnose-able condition. This also means that if you are struggling with a mental health condition, this information does not have to be sent to your insurance carrier and provides greater privacy. If you are worried about your privacy or bills being sent to your home, self-pay is more confidential.
Being self-pay also allows us to treat as needed, and the amount of sessions is not determined by your insurance provider. Most insurance providers will only allow a limited amount of sessions, which might mean you can only be seen for a short amount of time before we must get pre-authorized for additional visits. If you are self-pay, we have the ability to schedule twice a week or just once per month. The flexibility is yours.
Most insurance providers require that our sessions take place right here, in this office, or they will not pay. If you are self-pay, we have the flexibility of talking at the park while walking on Krodel’s walking trail or the riverfront trail, or even while fishing. As a therapist, I must practice where others cannot hear our discussion and in an area where we are able to communicate effectively, but we do have greater flexibility. (I don’t make house calls or drive far from the office.) I believe that overall wellness includes getting outdoors, being active and enjoying nature, so “Walk and Talks” are a great idea. We can also do outside art projects during our sessions.
Currently, I can still print a “super-bill” for you to submit for reimbursement to your insurance company, but until I become an approved provider, you will need to check on their reimbursement policy.
I am a licensed clinician in both WV and Ohio, so I can provide services to residents of both states.
My planned office hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 11am-7pm, which allows working professionals to meet with me after work or on lunch breaks. If you have any questions, please send a message or call me at 304-675-5775. As I am currently in and out of the office, please leave a message if I do not answer.
I look forward to hearing from you!!
